Sentinel Apiaries monitor honey bee health using and monthly disease assessments of Varroa and Nosema pathogen loads processed at the University of Maryland.
The goal is to collect enough information so that Sentinel Apiaries become an early warning system we can use to alert beekeepers of potential problems
due to increases in disease or changes in hive weight. The Sentinel Apiaries will allow us to develop data
driven best management practices for beekeepers in real time, improving honey bee health for all beekeepers.
